Greetings Citizens,

This public notice is to advise the citizens of La Villa that a report of two detainees transported by ISS Action Transport Group had separated themselves from a transport vehicle while in route to the East Hidalgo Detention Center. After further investigation by outside agencies, it was determined that the incident occurred in the area of FM 1015 and Frontage road in Weslaco, TX. Please be advised that this incident did not occur in the City of La Villa and there is no threat to the community. Also be advised that a temporary campus lockdown has been cancelled.

Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez has released the following statement in commemoration of our Veterans and the resources available to them. The County has dropped off pamphlets of these resources at City Hall and is available for anyone that wishes to pick up a copy. In the event we run out, you can always visit www.hidalgocounty.us to download a copy. Please be sure to follow COVID-19 guidelines when coming to City Hall.
